Looking into more AR and VR

During the lesson on the first week, we had a chance to experience many different kinds of AR and VR devices. I was most attracted to the game 'Beat Saber', it was a very fun game! Putting on the VR devices made me feel like I was in a totally different dimension, it also helps me involve in the game more.

I also like how the AR shows my drawing. This technology is widely used in many museums and galleries in order to get kids to involve more in the activity. Most children do not like exhibitions because they do not understand words and the meaning behind all those exhibits. However, including AR technology and allowing kids to learn through drawing can definitely make them enjoy the process more.

This is one of the tasks we had to do after the lesson last week.

We were asked to make a Facebook/Instagram filter. I always love cute filters from Instagram, which I decided to make a cute and simple filter with the characters I designed with my friend. Seeing people designing their own filters on Instagram always makes me wanna try making my own filter. I felt so delighted after making this filter and seeing it actually works on Instagram is so amazing.

During the process of making the filter, I got to learn more about using Photoshop. I was used to using Illustrator all the time for design but I never used Photoshop much. It is a great practice for me to get a little bit more familiar with Photoshop.

Besides, I would like to talk about the reason I chose Face Mask out of all kinds of projects/templates. I decided to use Face Mask as I thought it is the easiest one to start with, and I also like how my characters can stick on my face through using Face Mask. :) I would love to look into other ways of making filters soon and it will definitely be fun to have my friends using filters I create!
